CSIRO, Batteries R&D Program

Researcher:

Dr. Yang Du

Project Overview:

This project, supported by the Australia–US Researcher Exchange Network, aims to enhance the control and market integration of battery energy storage systems for renewable energy support. It explores advanced strategies that improve the dispatchability, grid responsiveness, and economic value of battery systems in applications such as solar firming.

Through collaboration with leading US researchers, this initiative will help develop innovative control frameworks and share knowledge to strengthen Australia’s capabilities in battery research and deployment. The project includes a planned research visit to the United States to exchange best practices, foster new collaborations, and accelerate joint developments in the field.
